For those who are unaware of the progress since I started this blog.
On 14th January 2011, my dad passed away at about 7pm in ICU.
That morning, the Doc called and informed that the dialysis is not going well. Many micro blood clots have formed in his body and dialysis is not getting the expected result.
He was diagnosed with multiple organ failure. Doc asked if its ok to remove the dialysis but he might go under again. In that case, he was not a good candidate for CPR or shock. The time expected for him to last is only 24hrs since his heart is not doing well.
I said please let him have a painless journey if he has to go. And of course with dignity.
I rushed down to keep vigil at his bedside, memories of my childhood with Dad kept filling up the room and memories of his voice drummed out the beeping of his heart rate machine.
Asha handover the baton at around 6pm, Eric, Junjie and Nicole took over.
I stood at bedside and occasionally walked to the window and looked out at the sky, thought about the journey my Dad and I had the last 35 yrs.
He left without a struggle, just silently slept, I held his hand when his heart beat ceased.
My Uncle entered the room 1 minute after dad's heart beat ceased, followed by a loud shuffle outside the door, apparently May drove like mad to the hospital to say goodbye before he left.
She arrived 2 minutes after Dad passed.
I am blessed and fortunate to have this team support throughout.
My sincere gratitude to: May, Asha, Ben, Clarence, Eric, Zhicong, JunJie, Victor, Nicole & Alan Ng.
